If you have been maintaining your lawn either by yourself or with a lawn care company, then you have been applying your crabgrass preventer early in the season. This method is not only outdated, but it is wrong. There are two main reasons:
The crabgrass preventer also has a negative effect on young emerging grass plants. This will inhibit the new growth of your lawn when you need it the most when we are going into the spring season.
The effective life span of the material is about 3 months. So by the time summer months are here, the material is not nearly as effective as it should be.
